RIGHT
The literal meaning of the word “Right” is unknown to me. What does it mean? For whom it stands? As I see this word, it explains the freedom of a living being whether an animal, a human being, or a devil it may be. It is the independence that a person owns by birth. For instance, a person has the right to live alive. He/she has the liberty to wear according to his/her taste. Right is not gender-biased. It is open to all humans regardless of their gender. In the family system, there is right in a hierarchy where superiority is given to males as compared to females. The males are considered as the heirs of the family. There are certain limitations to it as well.
There are different categories of rights. For example, human rights which cover the whole world inhabitants. Similarly, the right to live independently, right to education, right to vote, right to speak, right of expression, right of minorities, etc, according to national and international levels.
Religion plays a basic role in the recognition of a right. Many religions are existing in the world. Like Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, budmoth, Jews, etc. Every religion allows a certain set of rights to his followers. Limitations are also there which cannot be ignored. Like when we talk about Islam, it gives lots of rights to its followers. For example, it gives a very good way of living style. It also gives a good right to women which is ignored in many religions. Same in Hinduism, a time ago, there was a violation of the rights of women.
I will conclude my topic with the famous quotation of Frederick Douglass “knowledge makes a man unfit to be a slave’. It means without knowledge nobody can stand for his/her right. So, its time to stand up for yourself.
